Food Season at the British Library

We took part in this year's British Library Food Season in May 2022.

To discover the world of Japanese drinks, the event introduced to the audience Japanese sake, umeshu (plum wine) and yuzushu (yuzu wine) which have a long and rich history in Japan and are now popular around the world.

Chaired by Fabio Gygi of the Japan Research Center at SOAS University the panel discussion included exploring the subject with Rie Yoshitake, sake expert and director of the Japanese Culinary Academy in the UK, Risa Iwashita, Director for Umeshuya London and Tom Wilson, Head Brewer at the UK’s first sake brewery, Kanpai.

The evening included a chance to taste a selection of Japanese drinks and we had such a good time with the audience. Check out the video below!
