Chiebijin “Tea" Umeshu is a unique blend infused with Kitsuki Black Tea from Oita prefecture in Japan. The deep red plum colour has a hint of Darjeeling’s bitterness: a unique mix.

Nakano brewery is based in Kitsuki City, Oita Prefecture which once prospered as a castle town of the Matsudaira family of the Kitsuki clan. Even today, the atmosphere of the castle town remains.

“Chiebijin” ("bijin" means beauty) was named after the proprietor’s wife, Chie: to be loved for a long time.

Drink: straight or try with hot water!

Warming but sweet, interesting but drinkable

A warming Umeshu that is thick, sweet and very drinkable. Whilst there is a hint of tea the overwhelming flavour is the warming brandy that is the base of this blend. A good winter drink, a little too sweet for me so I'm looking to use it as a dash in hot water to warm up on cold days.
